Pcis

Pcis is a Queensland statewide telephone service that provides information, emotional and counselling support to individuals affected by potential life-limiting or terminal illness. All Pcis services are provided free of charge to families, friends, carers and health professionals.
Pcis provides a national freecall 1800 772 273 number. With this number callers can speak with an experienced nurses or counsellors,
who can provide:-
- information about palliative care,
- the contact details for local services and support organizations that can provide palliative care,
- information on approaches to palliative care,
- specialist counselling and emotional support to clients, carers, families and friends around grief, loss and bereavement.
Support to individuals affected by potentially life-limiting or terminal illness, their family, friends carers and health professionals.
Pcis also provides a specialist networking and support service to health professionals in Queensland, and can connect clinicians in all health regions across Queenlsland. This assists regional clients to receive better continuity of care by maintaining clinician to clinician contact.This free telephone service is funded by Queensland Health and operates from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
